TIPS ON FLOWERS

With any flower bouquet it is important to use the Floral Preservative sachet that you receive free of charge with any Enigma bouquet!! This will ensure proper bloom opening and life expectancy of your flowers.

ROSES:
  • Carefully remove the lower leaves and thorns -- try not to damage the stems.
  • Recut the stems with a sharp, clean knife or pruning shears
  • Place roses in clean, warm water (105 degrees F/40 degrees C) with floral preservative.
  • Be sure to remove the retaining petals after the flowers hydrate for 8 to 12 hours (these are the outer layer of petals which keep the roses from opening during the growing process.)
  • Avoid placing the flowers in an area where they might receive excess heat or other extreme conditions. This will help them last longer.
CARNATIONS:
  • Recut the stems and remove leaves that will be in the water
  • Put the flowers in a vase of clean water and floral preservative.
  • Keep a neutral environment & avoiding extreme temperatures.
MIXED BOUQUETS:
  • Cut the bottom of the stems at a 45 degree angle preferably under water
  • With woody stems such as Hydrangea, Hypericum and so on be sure to crush the bottom of the stem for better water absorption.
  • Add floral preservative to the water in your vase.
  • Enjoy your flowers.
LILLIES & OTHER DELICATE FLOWERS:
  • Fill a clean vase with fresh water. add our professional fresh flower preservative
  • Make sure no leaves are under the waterline.
  • With Calla lilies keep the protective cover over the lily until you are ready to use it making sure the lily stays moist with fresh water from a spray bottle.
  • Lilies may need to be trimmed.
  • If you are receiving hydrangea remember that this is a very delicate flower and special care must be taken. These should be kept as cool as possible plus the heads should be kept moist by misting with fresh water
  • If you plan on using your flowers in bouquets be sure to spray them with a floral sealer to maximize the life of the bouquet.
  • Every 2 or 3 days you should re-cut the flowers and change the water for maximum flower life.
  • You will want to keep the flowers in a cool environment
